What historical event fascinates you the most?

I am currently still learning about our own country’s “Truth and Reconciliation” and how we are moving forward on the recommendations that were recommended.

I am also fascinated by the fact that a war does not bring peace to the countries fighting it. While working for a local municipality I must be careful about what I say and where I say it. But the heartache reading about the loss of innocent lives in any conflict is hard. The weapons used today are brutal. As a human it makes me weep to see such terrible losses to families. The wars are not being fought on our soil, but our soldiers operating in peacekeeping or anyone who has volunteered to assist in helping the victims of these wars is also at risk. I understand the need to protest to bring our country persons home, to protest the conflicts period. It has to stop.
