Well, I like to read books that get my emotions going, my brain thinking, and let me escape to a different reality for a while.

I was blessed with two older brothers and two older sisters. Way older. My parents found out I was deaf when I was 4 and didn’t move off the road when a car came up behind me… I wasn’t hurt, started wearing hearing aids etc, and I was read stories most nights before bed by my siblings. Or at least that is what I remember. My parents were readers, and I basically come from a family that loves to read. Classics, newspapers, mysteries, romance.

My mom went more for historical fiction, my dad mysteries and I gravitate to mysteries. John A McDonald the detective in Florida. Johnathan Kellerman, Kathy Reich. Elizabeth George is a favourite, and lately I started reading more science fiction. If an author can spin a good story, I want to read it.

So I will be looking for my fave authors this year to see if they have a new book coming out, Deborah Crombie is another one, Lars Kepler. Giles Blunt. The one thing about ebooks and elibrary is seeing all the books available from other countries. Love the Muderbot series by Martha Wells.
